Foreign correspondent for AP-Dow Jones News, London, 1993 to
1996:
Covered the U.K. stock market and economy, mainly for the Dow Jones
financial newswires. Occasionally wrote “Heard in London”
columns on hot stocks for The Wall Street Journal Europe and appeared
on European Business News (a cable television news station) to explain
certain market movements or to interview corporate executives.
Business writer for the Houston Chronicle, 1989 to 1993:
Covered mainly the Texas banking industry as hundreds of institutions
failed. Routinely used sources to report impending failures and
takeovers before official announcements.
Writer and editor for the Houston Business Journal, 1986 to 1989:
Moved up twice in three years: from features reporter to staff writer,
then to managing editor.
